Master Class with Michael Sampson
Collaborating Effectively with SharePoint
Tuesday 31st March 2009, 9.30am-4.30pm, London
Microsoft SharePoint offers many capabilities to support team, enterprise and cross-enterprise collaboration. How can your organisation leverage the best of SharePoint to do so? Part of the answer is using the technology for smart purposes; an even larger part is about having the right thinking and governance structures in place.
Join Michael Sampson for a full-day workshop based on his research, writing and consulting on effective collaboration with Microsoft SharePoint, as well as Michael’s latest book – Seamless Teamwork (Microsoft Press, 2009) – on using SharePoint for collaboration.
Overall objectives:
- Obtain valuable ideas for making effective use of SharePoint to support collaboration in the enterprise.
- Obtain an understanding of how to apply the ideas of Seamless Teamwork to your organisation.
In this workshop, we will:
- Set the stage by investigating how to maximize the use of technology for collaboration
- Investigate how SharePoint best supports collaborative activities
- Discuss the ethos of Seamless Teamwork, and how to apply its approach within your organisation
- Look at ways to enhance and extend the collaboration capabilities of SharePoint through third-party tools
- Consider the governance themes required to maximise the use of SharePoint for collaboration
Attendees will leave with materials and directions to help them:
- Put in place appropriate expectations about how SharePoint can support collaboration in their organisation
- Teach internal business teams to use SharePoint effectively
- Establish a governance framework to enable the effective use of SharePoint on an ongoing basis
